The Reno High Sierra Chapter of The Ninety-Nines, Inc., was founded
by 15 women pilots in 1989. Today, the chapter members include
private pilots, certified flight instructors, commercially rated pilots and women simply flying for the sheer joy
and pleasure of it all. Many members have also earned balloon,
glider and seaplane ratings. We traditionally meet at 7 PM on the first or second Thursday of every month at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport Fire Station, 1805 Riley Avenue, Reno, or you can contact us to find
out where we’re flying on our next monthly fly-in. You’re
welcome to come and join the fun!

Aerospace Education Form JPG
Aerospace Education NOTAM
Send it to Lynn via Snail mail at: Lynn Meadows,P.O. Box 111, Truckee, CA
96160 FAX to: 530.587.3103 NOTES ON CATEGORIES FOR SCORING LISTED ON FORM--Southwest Section (from the SWS 99s chapter
chairman's manual)
"Part of the mission statement of 99s International directs us to "Provide...aviation education
in the community." Take a peek at the activities listed on the form that qualify for "points" when we compete
for this award at spring section meeting. Members and chapters who participate in these varied projects reap immeasurable
gratification and "just plane fun" from presenting Flying Companion Seminars, working with school children, flying
local official and educators...and the list goes on. The only problem is that we're so busy "doing" we often
don't record our activities for a whole year. Various chapter AE committees have developed systems for soliciting interim
reports during the year and what works for one chapter/chairman may not work for another. Consider scheduling a few
minutes at each monthly meeting or on alternate months to collect information for the most recent period. The report form
due April 15th each year might work for your chapter to make photocopies with dates edited so that all members attending can
complete and return them at your meetings. You might consider using a master calendar or individual calendars in place of
text-type forms. Whatever works for your chapter. One benefit of reporting members' activities in a group, when it works,
is that they exchange a lot of information about what they have been doing and what they're planning to do in the near future.
It seems to encourage each member present to participate in new and different activities. Active chapters are a lot more interesting
and the vitality is catching!"
NOTE: All
activities need DATE/NAME OF EVENT/PERSONS ATTENDING. Perhaps
if we all keep an Aero Educ. form in our log books, on our calendars, with our rosters, or some other handy place, we'll be
more inclined to fill it out on a regular basis. AND if we start NOW, at the beginning of the competition year [January 1,
2010 to December 31, 2010] maybe it will be easier. It is very difficult for the Aero. Educ. chair to compile data at the
last minute.
KEEP THE SCORE SHEET PAGE
IN YOUR LOG BOOK OR A SAFE PLACE AND ADD YOUR DATES AND ACTIVITIES ON IT MONTHLY,QUARTERLY OR AS YOU DO THEM.
Hopefully, posting the form here on our website will help us all to
stay more current on tracking our activities and lead to a trophy for our chapter!

Reno High Sierra 99s Section Meeting, May 2010

Congratulations to our Scholarship Winners Merridy

Our Chapter at play: Left—Fly-in group at Quincy and below that, a photo shows attendees
to our hosted brunch and hangar tour at Cactus Air Force in Carson City. Right—Lots
of hard work (and far too many wonderful workers to be able to show them all here) working at the Reno Air Races in 2007,
raising money for our Reno High Sierra 99s Chapter Scholarship Fund.
A group of the usual suspects at one of our regular
fly-outs May 2010.
Good company...and best of all, flying!
