UPDATE: Please note the Date for this Safety Seminar has changed to May 4th!
We’re so excited to announce the return of our Safety Sessions! A HUGE thank you to Moe to leading these educational, interesting, and useful discussions.
Per Moe:
I am finally reinstating the Reno High Sierra 99s safety sessions. The next session will be on 4/6/23 at 1800 (6 pm) local time at Atlantic Aviation. These sessions are normally approximately an hour long but are heavily based on interactive conversations with those attending. I am working on Zooming these sessions as well.
I am interested in hearing your vote for one of the following topics; I will also take suggestions beyond these ideas. (Please email Moe at: ishmarmak@hotmail.com )
Departures - How to plan your departures for possible failures including bird strikes and drones.
VFR Mountain Flying in Sierra Nevada Mountain including Reno specific online weather resources, how to get over Kingsbury grade in your underpowered single engine plane, canyon turns, etc.
Jet Traffic at Non-towered Airports - how to anticipate where the corporate and charter jets might be at both Carson City and Minden, why do they fly their approaches that way (!), and what you can do.
Take care,
Moe Makowski
